Or that right-handed people live, on average, nineyears longer than lefties? And as tough or hardcore as we like to think we are we are the only animals that produce emotional tears – crybabies!

Nothing sums up our idiosyncrasies better than BBC Knowledge’s epic new Human Season, which happens on Tues and Wed nights DSTV at 9pm on 251/
To mark the launch, the channel erected – delayed Valentine’s pun intended – a 22m long sculpture in Sandton Square this weekend, emblazoned with ice copy “In the Sahara your body loses 1L of water an hour”, as the day went on the ice obviously melted.
