We Run Jozi had her way with with me. She started out warm and gentle but shortly after, cranked up the heat and became an uphill battle. She was your ex girlfriend.
Her scars remain with me today. Not on my heart, but in my quads, hammies, and shins.
Those crazy runner types with the stereotypical bad breath preach about the addictive properties of running. They are right. The moment your broken body crosses the finish line at your first 10K, you know you can do it again. You want to be stronger, faster, fitter. Running is a war with yourself. You are the greatest barrier to that finish line.
This event is mammoth and hopefully something that becomes a bi annual fixture on the Jozi event calendar – with the night race through Newtown earlier in the year.
Thanks Seruscka ‘Just’ Naidoo It, and to the good folks at Fleishman SA, especially Emily for all the hard work on this project.
